Rodney "Scott" Custer

CUSTER, R. He was born in Van Wert, OH on July 3, 1978, to Rodney D. and the late Jane A (Scaer) Custer. On June 1, 2002, he married Jennifer L. (Ross) Custer who survives. Scott was employed by Robins and Morton from Birmingham, AL as a Project Manager. Because of his job, he has lived in 10 different cities but was very active as a church volunteer in each of those cities. Even though Scott battled his cancer for 6 years, Jesus Christ was glorified through his Caring Bridge website and he inspired everyone that he came in contact with in his life. He loved being outside in nature, and woodworking. Scott was preceded in death by his mother Jane A. (Scaer) Custer on Dec. 23, 2011. Besides being survived by his wife Jennifer, he is survived by their two children at home who he loved dearly, Grace, 3 and Drew is 1. He is survived by his father Rodney D. of Land O' Lakes; two sisters, Jamie (Ryan) Rase of Troutman, NC and Jill (Chris) Waligora of Jacksonville. He also leaves an extended family that he loved. Visitation and viewing will be from 9:30 am to 11 am on Friday, Jan. 20, at Exciting Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz. The Celebration of Life for Scott will begin at 11 am at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to The Custer Children Trust- made payable to Jennifer Custer. Memorial gifts may also be made to HPH Hospice. On Saturday, Jan. 28, there will be a memorial service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, OH. Visitation with family will be from 10 am to 11 am and the service will begin at 11 am.
