Jane A. (Scaer) Custer
Land O Lakes, FL. Jane Alicia (Scaer) Custer formerly of Convoy, OH, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on December 23, 2011 peacefully with family at home after 4+ years battling colon cancer. Jane will have the best Christmas of anyone on earth. She will have Christmas with Jesus. She was born in Van Wert, Oh. on June 13, 1953 to Fred and the late Velma (Hoverman) Scaer Simpson. On September 15, 1973 she married Rodney D. Custer who survives.
Jane was an active member of Idlewild Baptist Church, Lutz, FL., and Caregiver Coordinator for the Maranatha Adult Bible Fellowship Class, and worked in the Preschool Ministry. She was a Daycare provider both in Ohio and Florida 25 years for a total of about 60 or 70 children.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother Velma (Hoverman) Scaer Simpson.
Besides being survived by her husband of 38+ years, Rodney, she is survived by her 3 children which she loved dearly, Jamie (Ryan) Rase of Troutman, NC., Scott (Jennifer) Custer of Land O Lakes, FL., and Jill (Chris) Waligora of Jacksonville, FL.; her 6 grandchildren for whom she cherished Jordan, Jacey, and Jacob Rase, Grace and Drew Custer, and Chloe Waligora, her father Fred (Joyce) Scaer, her brother Ted (Sharon) Scaer of Convoy, OH, her sister Mary Ann (Jeff) Dunlap of Van Wert, OH, and step sister Alicia (Jack) Dill of Sedalia, OH.
Jane was passionate about her grandchildren and loved children.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 on Friday December. 30, 2011 at Exciting Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, FL. The Celebration of Life for Jane will begin at 11am at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial bequests to Exciting Idlewild Baptist Church Preschool Ministry or HPH Hospice.
